LINCOLNVILLE — George Otis Brown, 79, died Aug. 15, 2015, at The Sussman House in Rockport. Born in Camden on Oct. 1, 1935, he was son of Ormond Roy and Marion Estelle (Perry) Brown.

George grew up in Lincolnville and was a graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1954. On Nov. 10, 1956, he married Deanne Arthur in Rockport.

From 1958 to 1960, George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. His employment included the Camden Tanning Corporation, Shell Elms, for Bob Oxton at Camden Amoco, at Dean & Eugley Garage and Mike's Align & Repair in Lincolnville. In recent years, George worked for Waltz Pharmacy and Kennebec Pharmacy making deliveries along the coast.

George was a member of St. Paul's Masonic Lodge in Lincolnville and was a former member of the Lincolnville Volunteer Fire Department. With his great sense of humor, George loved to play the straight man. George will be remembered as a patient, warm and loving man who adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Deanne Brown of Lincolnville; his daughter, Vicki Bricker and her husband, Bennett, of Camden; his grandchildren, Whitney Kilton, Jaime Mills and Isaac Bricker; four great-grandchildren, CJ Kilton, Isaiah Kilton, Audrey Kilton and Addyson Parsons; a sister, Julia Libby of Lincolnville; two brothers, Melvin Brown and his wife, Margaret, of Orrington, and Edwin Brown and his wife, Deborah Jo, of Hampden; a sister-in-law, Suzanne Philpot and her husband, Bruce, of Galveston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Gary Libby.

A Masonic graveside service was held Aug. 21, 2015, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Camden.
