Geneology group to view presentation of “New England Town Records”

Event has passed

Join the Belfast Free Library and the Wawenoc Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society for a group viewing of a recorded presentation by genealogist Ann Lawthers, made available through American Ancestors, called “New England Town Records.”

The viewing will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High Street, Belfast. It is an in-person event, with a Zoom option available. Please email to request the link.

Town records from New England can contain a wealth of genealogical information. These records can contain records of births, marriages, burials, mortgages, name changes, and more that can help you fill in the details of your ancestor's life. In this webinar, Genealogist Ann Lawthers will delve into this important resource for New England and demonstrate how you may get the most out of these records for your own family history.

Discussion and light refreshments to follow.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Wawenoc Chapter is a local chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society. It meets monthly on the third Wednesday at the Belfast Free Library. Genealogists of all abilities and skill-levels are encouraged to join. Annual dues for members are $5 and go toward speaker fees and supplies, but membership is not required to attend individual programs.
