Game Loft benefits from $1,500 Hannaford donation

BELFAST — Hannaford Supermarkets Aug. 14 presented The Game Loft in Belfast with a donation of $1,500 in support of the programming that the organization provides to youth in Waldo County.

The Game Loft provides an environment where young people are guided to become caring, competent, confident, contributing and connected adults.

In a press release, The Game Loft organizers said it is honored by the business’ generosity and “graciously thanks them for their enthusiastic support of our community and our youth.”

Hannaford Supermarkets officials said that they are "proud to partner with The Game Loft to make a positive impact on youth in Waldo County. We understand that it takes a village to raise a child and we're pleased to join with other individuals and businesses to support the mission and goals of this organization. Together, we can make a difference."

The Game Loft is additionally funded in part with support from the City of Belfast and other Waldo County municipalities, United Mid-Coast Charities, United Way of Eastern Maine and many individual donors and other foundations.

The Game Loft in Belfast is open Mondays 2-6 p.m. for youth gamers 12 and under; Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-6 p.m.; Fridays 2-8:30 p.m. for young people age 18 and under; and at Mount View Middle School on Wednesdays 3-5:15 p.m. for youth in grades 3-12. For more information visit thegameloft.org
