Five Town CSD, SAD 28 hold budget meetings, explain expenditures to public

    On Monday, March 20, the Five Town CSD and SAD 28 school boards will hold meetings to present the 2017-2018 school budgets and to give the public an opportunity to ask questions and provide input.

    SAD 28 comprises Camden and Rockport K-8 schools. The Five Town CSD comprises Camden Hills Regional High School sending towns, including Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport.

    The meetings will take place in the Camden Hills Regional High School chorus room. The SAD 28 meeting will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. and the Five Town CSD meeting will take place from 7 to 8 p.m.

    Current budget documents will be posted on the Five Town CSD and MSAD 28 website by the evening of Friday, March 17.

    The proposed SAD 28 budget currently rests at $13.4 million, with a 2.2 percent increase over this year’s budget.

    The proposed CSD budget is $12.8 million, with a 4.27 percent increase. Administrators are trying to reduce that number.
