Eva Hazel Babson, obituary

BREWER – Eva Hazel Babson died Jan. 6, 2017. She was born July 25, 1921, in North Orland to Edgar and Lida Gray. She graduated from Springfield High School and was married to Claude H. Stinson from 1940 until he passed in 1986.

Eva worked at W.T. Grants department store in Bangor for many years before going to work with her son and daughter-in-law, Myron and Sandra McLaughlin, at Campbell's Bakery in Brewer until she retired.

Eva remarried to Robert Babson of Penobscot in 1993. He made her very happy for the rest of her life. She loved to sew, knit and crochet but most of all she loved her family.

Eva was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Claude "Harry"; her sons, Russell and Myron; and her sister, Ida Gray. Surviving are her daughters, Dolores Rustin of Old Town, and Delight Colby and her husband, Richard, of Florida; her step-children, Robert H. Babson of Standish, Jerry Babson and his partner, Sally Howard, of Bucksport, Larry Babson and his wife, Irene, of Surry, and Sandra Orcutt and her husband, Bill, of N. Orland; her sister, Doris Lindsay of Brewer; her daughter-in-law, Sandra McLaughlin of Brewer; her grandchildren, Robyn Day and her husband, Jay, of Lamoine, Tim Ward and his wife, Sandy, of North Carolina, April Beal and her husband, Shane, of Florida, Candy Wood of Brewer, Chris Colby and Ryan of Korea, Kimberlye Barclay of Brewer, Craig Colby and his wife, Tina, of Texs, Clay McLaughlin and his wife, Sandy, of Topsham, Scott McLaughlin and his wife, Tina, of Bangor, and Kelly Jean Kobrin and her husband, Dave, of Orrington; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Per Eva's request, there will be no services. A springtime burial will be held at the Woodland Cemetery in Brewer.

Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine.
