ROCKPORT — Throughout April, Maine Coast Heritage Trust will be displaying pages of Rissy No Kissies by Katey Howes and Jess Engle along the 1.4-mile Erickson Fields Trail, at 164 West Street, in Rockport.

“The storybook’s bright, playful colors emphasize that love is a spectrum, and everyone carries a different hue,” said Maine Coast Heritage Trust, in a news release. “Some colors might not blend well, but, as Rissy’s mother puts it, ‘your body and your heart are yours, and you choose how to share.’”

Rissy No Kissies is displayed in partnership with the Midcoast Children’s Advocacy Center, a program of Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast Maine, for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect.

The Midcoast Children’s Advocacy Center is a safe, neutral, child-centered program that coordinates a team of specialized professionals to address concerns of child sexual abuse. The Midcoast Children’s Advocacy Center is here to help referred families find what healing and justice looks like for them. The Midcoast Children’s Advocacy Center’s referrals come from DHHS and law enforcement. If you or a loved one is concerned about a child’s safety, you can call either local law enforcement or DHHS-CPS at 1-800-452-1999 to make a mandated report.

If you or a loved one needs immediate support from an advocate, call our State-wide Helpline at 1-800-871-7741. For questions about our programming and outreach services, you can reach us at: outreach@sassmm.org

Erickson Fields is a preserve of Maine Coast Heritage Trust, a state-wide land conservation organization. More information about the Trust, its preserves, and community programs is available online at mcht.org and aldermere.org.
