ROCKLAND - Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education has a few spots remaining in our September CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) course. Consider stepping into the healthcare field now, where there is a critical shortage of CNAs. Students accepted to this session may also apply to Pen Bay Medical Center's Apprenticeship "Earn While You Learn" program. Students accepted to the Pen Bay program will be sponsored, paid to attend CNA class, and will commit to working at Pen Bay long term care facilities for 18 months after graduation. Upon successful completion of the 200 hour course and passage of the State Competency Exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. The course begins September 5th and follows a Tuesday through Thursday daytime schedule for 9 weeks. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
