ROCKLAND — Thomaston Recreation Director Rene Dorr has added a new major title to his already busy life as the Thomaston resident will take over the Oceanside varsity girls soccer program this fall, replacing Darryl Townsend who resigned earlier this year after six seasons at Oceanside.

Dorr, a father of two, most recently served as an assistant coach for the Oceanside boys soccer team. 

The Oceanside girls soccer program went 10-2-3 last season and fell in the regional semifinals to Erskine Academy. 

The Lady Mariners will return the bulk of their roster from last season only losing five of the 26 players listed on 2016 roster.
