WALDOBORO — David A. Stanley, 62, husband of Violet J. Matson Stanley, died unexpectedly Jan. 16, 2015, at his home.

Born in Rockland, on March 13, 1952, he was the son of Arthur B. Sr. and Helen L. Haskell Stanley. He began school in Rockland and after moving to Owls Head with his family, attended the Owls Head Central School. He later attended Rockland Junior High School and Rockland High School.
David enlisted in the United States Navy, and served aboard the U.S.S. Belknap during the Vietnam war.

David was predeceased by his father on March 4, 1983. He is survived by his wife of Waldoboro; his mother of Rockland; a daughter, Mary E. Stanley-Rosario and her husband, David, of Chaplin, Conn.; three step-daughters, Randi Dodge and her husband, Clinton, of Cushing, Breanna Waldron and her companion, Brandon, of Florida, and Arrianna Campbell of Bath; a step-son, William Waldron III of Cushing; one brother, Arthur B. 'Artie' Stanley and his wife, Kitty, of Owls Head; one grandson, David A. Rosario of Connecticut; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. The Rev.
