SWANVILLE — A Swanville man was arrested and charged with operating under the influence following a Sept. 30 crash that left a neighborhood without power, according to a media report from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Clark, 55, was reported to police by several concerned citizens who witnessed the Oak Hill Road crash, which occurred around 8:00 p.m.

Deputies Merl Reed and Jeffrey Rice responded to the scene, where they found Clark had failed to negotiate a corner in his 2010 Nissan Murano, causing him to lose control. The vehicle left the roadway, ultimately striking a utility pole.

Speed and alcohol are both considered factors in the crash.
