CAMDEN — Connie Beveridge passed away peacefully July 25, 2014, in her sleep at Windward Gardens in Camden, with her family at her side.

Known for her hard work, grit and determination, she devoted her whole life to her three children, nine grandchildren and eoght great-grandchildren.

Raised in Lincolnville during the Great Depression, along with five brothers and four sisters, she married Lyford Beveridge and they operated a small dairy farm in Lincolnville for more than 15 years. Those were the days when you gathered the hay and milked the cows by hand. During that time, Connie also was employed at Maplewood Poultry in Belfast. Later she was employed as a cook at the Village Restaurant in Camden working there for nearly 20 years. For the next 15 years, she worked as a nanny to Glenn and Ginger's children, Susan and Amy.

Connie purchased her home on Limerock Street and began to make her beautiful flower gardens that were the envy of all who walked by. She was a caregiver all of her life to both family and friends. Connie always had a list of projects to complete for those who had the time and she would reward you with a batch of her famous biscuits. Words are not sufficient to express how much she will be missed.

Surviving is one brother, Robert Porter of Lincolnville; her three children, Rose Stebbins and her husband, David; Rose's four children, Dawn Mischele Smith and her former husband, Dana Cote, their daughter, Jordan; Scott Smith; Heather Weeks and her partner, Ivan Bly, their daughter, Iris; Jacob Weeks and his wife, Ruby; Curtis Beveridge and his wife, Pamela, their three children, Kristin Ruzzi and her husband, Vince, their children, John, Michael and Alex; Jennifer Churchill and her husband, Jody, their children, Aaron and Megan; Josh Beveridge and his wife, Lauren; Virginia "Ginger" Shepard and her husband, Glenn, their children, Susan Shepard and her partner, Travis Wilson, Amy Pease and her husband, Dan, and their daughter, Madelyn.
