CAMDEN — Coastal Mountains Land Trust appointed three new members to its board of directors: Gianne P. Conard and David Thanhauser, of Belfast, and Judy Wallingford, of Harpswell.

A longtime supporter of the Land Trust, Conard has an extensive background in architecture. She was a partner with a firm in Philadelphia and a professor of architecture at Drexel, Lehigh, and Cornell Universities. A Fellow in the American Institute of Architects, she is also Chairwoman of Waterfall Arts in Belfast.

Recently retired from the Maine Water Company, Wallingford take many years of executive leadership skills to the Board. Born and raised in Maine, her family ties date back to the mid 1700s. Judy graduated from Bowdoin College with majors in geology and mathematics. She said in a news release that she feels privileged to be part of the Land Trust; helping ensure protection of and public access to the natural beauty of the Midcoast.

Thanhauser lives in Swanville as a declared 'back to the lander'. He practiced family medicine in Belfast before retiring in 2017. David joined the board to assist with land conservation in the Midcoast area in general and the Hurds Pond watershed in particular.
