Camden-Rockport sprints past competition in championships

BELFAST — Several middle school cross country programs gathered Monday, Oct. 20 at Belfast’s Troy Howard middle school in hopes of leaving with the championship crown. 

The course was 2.1 miles long and featured runners from Camden-Rockport, Lincolnville, Islesboro, Great Salt Bay, Boothbay, Troy Howard, Appleton, Medomak, Searsport and Oceanside middle schools. 

At the end of the day, both the girls and boys Camden-Rockport Middle School teams brought home championship crowns for their respective gender divisions. 

Girls Team Results

1) Camden-Rockport — 1:12:15.40
2) Boothbay — 1:14:26.90
3) Lincolnville — 1:17:59.30
4) Troy Howard — 1:25:48.30
5) Appleton — 1:35:01.90
6) Great Salt Bay — 1:45:59.40

Boys Team Results

1) Camden-Rockport — 1:08:53.53
2) Boothbay —  1:10:00.64
3) Lincolnville — 1:11:56.37
4) Great Salt Bay — 1:17:02.54
5) Troy Howard — 1:15:04.63
6) Oceanside — 1:21:22.01
7) Medomak — 1:27:45.90
8) Appleton — 1:35:45.43

In individual results, Sam Russ (Great Salt Bay) had the best time in the boys division at 12:23.27, while Augusta Stockman (Camden-Rockport) had the best girls division time at 13:02.00.
