Camden Hills musicians perform for state educators

    Camden Hills music directors Kim Murphy and Nancy Rowe reported that 17 musicians represented CHRHS at the Maine Music Educators’ Association All State Festival and Concert on Saturday May 21, 2017. The students auditioned in November and were selected from thousands of applicants.

    Band members included:
    Tyler Bilodeau - Percussion (highest state score)
    Anna Christie – French Horn
    Warren Galloway – Alto Saxophone

    Orchestra members included:
    Trevor Iltis – French Horn 

    Treble Choir members included:

    Sopranos: Alexys Schaeffer and Grace Iltis
    Erica Durkee, Alto

    Mixed Choir members included:
    Sopranos: Molly Mann, Annabel Parker, Isabelle Olson, Jenna Taylor
    Altos – Emma Hallundbaek, Sophia Buckley-Clement
    Tenors – Jack Nathan, Gideon Baeza
    Basses – Tanner Castellano, Ethan Cayouette

    This year’s concert celebrated the 100th the anniversary of the Maine Music Educators’ Association. Each ensemble had the opportunity to work with commissioned composers and then performed the world premier of a commissioned piece by a Maine composer at the centennial concert. The concerts were played to capacity crowds at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono. Congratulations to these outstanding instrumentalists and vocalists.
