Camden Hills boys, girls Nordic skiers finish top 10 in state tourney, honored for good sportsmanship

Both the Camden Hills Nordic ski teams competed in the state tournament on Friday, Feb. 23 and finished in the top 10, while also claiming the Class A Good Sportsmanship Awards. 

The boys team finished 10th overall while the girls team finished seventh overall. 

However, the biggest moment for both teams came when both squads were recognized by the other teams in Class A for having good sportsmanship. 

In a statement on Facebook, Camden Hills Athletic Director Steve Alex said: “Great job teams and Coach [Richard] Stetson. Well done and thanks for the way that you have represented our school and community all season long.”

Members of the boys Nordic ski team include Henry Chamberlain, Samuel Gallagher, Wilson Gray, Benjamin Kern, Thomas McClellan, Ian Orsmond and Elias Porter. 

Members of the girls Nordic ski team include Eliza Brown, Suzannah Gray, Claire Lerner, Hannah Nolan, Natalie Owre, Claire Pierce, Marykare Pons, Margaret Richmond, Ciara Ricter and Grace Wrona.
