Camden fire, police departments hold first-ever Citizen’s Public Safety Academy

    The Camden Fire and Police departments will hold a Citizen's Public Safety Academy beginning Oct. 5. Classes will continue every Wednesday evening, 6 to 9 p.m., until Nov. 16.

    The course will include developing a basic understanding of fire and police departments and how they operate. Topics covered will include fire suppression, traffic stops, rescue operations, use of force, and much more. This is a good opportunity for those who have questions or interests about field of public safety to broaden their knowledge.

    The program is open to all, 16 and older. Classes will be held at the Camden Public Safety Building. There is no price for participation in this program.

    Registration forms are attached (at right) or available at the Camden Public Safety Building. Applicants under the age of 18 must sign the waiver form which is located with the application form. Return all application and waiver forms to the Camden Public Safety Building. Registration is open  until September 26 on a first come-first serve basis.
