BELMONT — On January 25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Gregory Grass, 57, and his son, Nathan Grass, 33, of Belmont, were arrested after being in alleged possession of 40 grams of suspected heroin.

The two were arrested by agents after they arrived at a convenience store in Belmont in possession of the heroin. The two had been under investigation for the past two months by agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Midcoast District Task Force for allegedly distributing heroin throughout Waldo County.

After the arrests agents executed a search warrant at Gregory Grass' residence at 240 Back Belmont Road in Belmont where he lives with his son, Nathan, Maine State Police said Friday afternoon, in a news release.

Agents seized additional evidence of heroin trafficking to include heroin, scales, drug ledgers and packaging materials, the release said.

The two were transported to the Belfast Police Department where they were later released on $5,000 unsecured bail. Both are scheduled to appear in court on March 9.

Belfast Police and Waldo County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation and arrests.
