BELFAST — Becca Biggs rocks the Underground Lounge on January 25.

“Biggs, formerly of Sugarbush, has been establishing herself as a Midcoast stalwart over the last year, riding the momentum of last year’s acclaimed solo debut Genie to solidify a fanbase at shows from tiny venues (the late Sophia’s) to outdoor festivals (Belfast Summer Nights),” said The Underground, in a news release. “Her twangy sound, born of Memphis roots, colors but never overpowers what is, at base, a damn good rock band.”

That band includes J.R. Braugh (guitar), Sam Yawdik (drums), and Zack Bence (bass), all veteran performers with chops honed in other bands: The Dolphin Strikers, El Grande, and Chris Roth and the North, respectively. With Biggs, their blend of folk, alt-country, and rock propel original tunes which keep audiences on their feet, according to the release.

Becca Biggs performs on Thursday, January 25, at the Underground Lounge, in the basement of the Belfast Maskers Theatre, at 17 Court Street. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10, cash only at the door.

The Underground Lounge offers shows on Thursday evenings twice a month along with beverages and homemade treats. Those interested in receiving email notices about upcoming shows can email sashakutsy2018@gmail.com.
