Barbara Ernst Prey: Inflection Points 40 Years of Painting in Maine is an exhibit showcasing the virtuosic hand of world-renowned artist Barbara Ernst Prey who has painted powerful views of her surroundings for four decades years. Taking the viewer from watercolors to oils, from The White House to the Space Station, from the architecture of Maine to the interior commission at MASS MoCA, this monumental and timely exhibit captures the Inflection Points of Barbara Prey's place in American Art. The New York Times writes about Prey's paintings, "Prey is going where icons like Rauschenberg and Warhol have gone before.” The exhibit will be open to the public July 15 through September 4, 2017.

A key figure in American painting, her work is included in major public collections including The White House, The Brooklyn Museum, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Kennedy Space Center, and various United States Embassies around the world. Prey has undertaken notable projects, including painting the world's largest known watercolor as a commission piece for MASS MOCA. She was appointed by the President of the United States to the National Council on the Arts, the advisory board of the National Endowment for the Arts. Additionally, she was invited to paint the official White House Christmas Card and her NASA commissions were part of the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling exhibit NASA ART/50 Years.
