Bail check in Washington turns up 2 pounds of marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms

    WASHINGTON — Knox County Sheriff's deputies charged a Washington man with possession of drugs and trafficking in marijuana following a routine bail check at his residence Monday.

    Jason R. Jones, 27, was arrested Nov. 17 and charged with possession of a schedule W drug, class C, trafficking in marijuana, class C, possession of schedule X drugs (psilocybin mushrooms) and violation of conditional release, class C.

    Jones' arrested came following the bail check, when Knox County Sgt. Lance Mitchell and Deputy Arthur Smith entered the residence and found an estimated 2+ pounds of marijuana inside. They also found alleged evidence of marijuana trafficking, hallucinogenic mushrooms, hydrocodone (Vicodin) and more than $6,700 in cash.

    Jones was transported to Knox County Jail, where he is awaiting a bail hearing.
