Pre-Registration Period for Spring Semester Extended. Scholarships Still Available

Wed, 01/10/2018 - 6:00am

University College at Rockland announced that the pre-registration period for the spring term which starts January 22 has been extended through January 19.

According to UC Rockland Director, Deborah Meehan, that means that students may continue to register for hundreds of classes without payment or financial aid in place.

"Given holidays and snow storms, it makes sense to extend the pre-registration timeline to give students a longer time to enroll," Meehan added. "We want to continue to help students problem solve any financial barriers preventing their spring term registration."

Meehan also noted that deadlines for scholarship applications have been extended.

"There are still scholarships available for first time college students, as well as those returning with 30 credits or more who want to finish a bachelor's degree."

Applications for the High School Aspiration program, which allows Maine's juniors and seniors to take college courses free, are also still being accepted.

"This is a good time to advance your education," noted Meehan.

University College at Rockland is open each weekday 8:00am to 5:00pm.  More information is available on its website at www.learn.maine.edu/rockland or by calling 596-6906.
