Friday, April 25, is the Belfast Co-op's monthly 'Love LOCAL Day', celebrating Maine's bounty.  Fedco Seeds (Waterville) will be providing free packaged seed samples between 11am and 3pm, which will be discounted 10% all day.

Love LOCAL Lunch Special: Co-op-made Beer Braised Kielbasa with Morse's Sauerkraut, apples and onions on Grilled Pita Bread. Served with chips and a Morse's dill pickle; $8.95.

All Maine products will be discounted 10% all day! This includes an extensive selection of: Maine beers, wines & meads; books by Maine authors like herbalist Deb Soule and mushroom expert Greg Marley; Maine produce, dairy items (milk, cream, yogurt, cheeses, ice cream, gelato), eggs, meats (fresh & frozen), prepared foods, Co-op brand frozen organic vegetables & fruit from Coastal Farms (Belfast), Northern Girl (Van Buren) frozen veggies, frozen blueberries, value-added products from Cheryl Wixson’s Kitchen (Belfast), Bixby Bars (Belfast), fermented foods from Thirty Acre Farm (Whitefield) and Gracie's Garden (Standish), Blue Mango Veggie Burgers (Portland), organic tofu & soymilk from Heiwa Soy Beanery (Belfast), organic tempeh from Lalibela Farm (Bowdoinham), Beyond Coffee organic grain-based beverage, Maine roasted coffees, sodas from Maine Root (including lemonades), Capt'n Eli, Green Bee; granolas, breads, baked goods (including gluten-free); organic stoneground cereals, pancake & baking mixes from Fiddler’s Green Farm (Belfast), Little Lad’s (Corinth) products, maple syrup, honey, herbal products from Avena Botanicals (Rockport) apothecary, and Maine Medicinals, seeds from Fedco (Waterville) and Johnny's (Winslow), greeting cards, CDs from Maine musicians, and much, much more!

Over the past year, Co-op customers purchased over $1,711,600 in local (Maine-grown, raised, harvested and produced) products. The Co-op stocks over 2,200 Maine-made products.
