Event has passed

The John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John Street, Camden will open its doors at 8 am, Saturday, November 18 for its popular sale of Maine-made gifts, baked goods and lunch.  Shoppers will be welcomed with the aroma of coffee served with breakfast treats and the array of specialty arts and crafts will fill the fellowship hall. Doors will close at 1 pm.

Vendors from the area will offer a wide range of goods for sale.  For example, unique hand-made jewelry and embroidered note cards, or felted pins and local photos.  Coastal Opportunities will be there with a selection of beautifully constructed hand bags and totes made with weavings by participants in their day programs.  One table will be offering handmade crafts along with classic household items.  Rugs, throws and tablecloths as well as pillows are attractive choices.  There will also be small potpourris and a wide variety of hand-knit items.  Christmas decorations and novelties will also be available. Shoppers may have the opportunity to watch some of the craftspeople working on their specialties. It is always a treat to chat with the artisans as well.

Down the hall from the craft sale will be the bake sale in our Narthex outside the Sanctuary.  Delicious sweet and savory treats always move quickly, and shoppers will have the choice of squares, cookies and a variety of pies in addition to the breads and rolls that are often snapped up early.

Also in the Narthex folks can take a break and enjoy a light lunch of corn chowder with biscuits plus a beverage and cookies for dessert.
