On Thursday, July 24th, The Residence at Tall Pines will hold a ceremony to dedicate the Catherine L Alling Memorial Nature Path.  Catherine was a resident at The Residence for nearly 8 years before peacefully passing away surrounded by her loving family in late March.  Since her passing, several of her family members donated funds to The Residence for the purpose of enhancing the Residents for other residents, both present and future. 

The path begins at The Residence’s rear entrance and extends through the wooded are behind the building and crosses the side lawn before ending at the patio which connects to Mitchell Hall.  Mitchell Hall is one of the common spaces available for residents to enjoy within The Residence.  The path has three seating areas, two of which are in the shade.

A number of Catherine’s former neighbors within The Residence have commented on what a fitting memorial the path is, as Catherine loved to walk.  She often encouraged other residents to walk with her in the afternoons or after dinner. 

Thursday’s dedication ceremony will be followed by an opportunity to walk the path.  Refreshments will be served in Mitchell Hall.  This event is open to the public.
